Donald: Sex. It’s the center of every relationship, whether or not one is willing to admit it. We are sexual creatures and we have the choice to have sex not only to breed, but for pleasure and sometimes just to pass the time. Yet for several people out there in this wonderful location that I find myself in, sex is still the enemy. It is taboo. It is forbidden fruit. Just uttering one’s sexual life in public brings grim faces of disgust and holier-than-thou remarks. But when sex is your career of choice, then what else can you do but to talk about it?

Of course, if you’re not reading at all, then it doesn’t matter, now does it?

While I was in the hospital – I had an operation, see my main blog – I started thinking about how I want to write this. Had I not been restricted by an IV, I would’ve written some of my ideas rather than hoping to remember them when I got home. I’m thinking if I can get some of these ideas into the story, then I can be slightly happier in the end. We’ll see, though. We’ll see.

Because the chapter usually takes place in the POVs of the four main characters, I see the problem that the chapters will be long. I know that such a thing is to be expected when working on a huge piece like this, so I’m left with two choices:

1. Publish each chapter in sections through the course of the week – so five in total, unless I need to make six, or
2. Publish the entire chapter on a certain day ever week, equally 12 posts rather than the 60+.

There is a third option, of course, which I also been thinking about for a while and that’s to opt out of writing a story and go over to my artist friend and start working on a graphic novel which I can post here in as a serial. And if we get enough support, we could make a hardback edition. I’ve been toying around with the idea of making a graphic novel and he volunteered to want to help. This third option, of course, will mean a longer period of waiting to read it, if you’re at all interested.

I feel that I started this page prematurely, but I wanted to snag the name before someone else got it. I’ll let you know what I choose to do when I finally make the decision.

Another thing I wanted to do, if I go the way of publishing it daily or weekly is adding Creative Commons licensed photographs to go along with the story. I suppose we’ll see.

1. Donald Johnson (age 24) – A self proclaimed sex hero, his main focus is attracting as many women as possible into his world in order to leave them longing for more. He is well read in the “sexual arts” and knows that pleasing a woman comes first, especially if he wants to be pleasured greatly in the end. While he doesn’t mean to demean women, Donald just can’t help to see how far one of his admirers will go to make an impression on him. Most of his ex-lovers will all vouch for Donald’s fear of “commitmentphobia,” noting that Donald would betray his own feelings in order to remain single and emotionally unhurt. He started a radio show entitled “Sex, with Strangers” that is often times criticized with promoting promiscuity. He, in turn, denies any of those allegations because the foundation of this radio talk show is to “educate others about what is normal and what is deemed fetish by the mainstream.”
2. Ron Ochoa (age 22) – Met Donald in college as they both majored in English. It was Ron – or so he says – who planted the seeds of “Sex, with Strangers” in Donald’s head. His reason being, “What else will two English majors do?” While not “in tune” with women like Donald is, Ron sexual escapades get him into deeper trouble. He bases his promiscuity due to a condition called Don Juanism. While friends and family – most noteably his on and off again girlfriend, Alice – warn Ron that his sexual appetite will one day lead him down a path that he’ll have to face alone, he continues on his sex addict lifestyle, seducing and paying to statisfy his urges.
3. Tanya Ortiz (age 18) - As the youngest of the four hosts of the radio show, she is the one who studies the darker sides of sex – leading her down the path of fetishers, rapists and some of the worse deviants on this planet. While not as sexually active as her male counterparters, Tanya is more inclined to focus on the news on human sexuality, rather than partaking in exploiting her lovers on live radio.
4. Sandra Perez (age 25) - There’s only one thing better than sex and drugs for Sandra and that’s sex while under the influence of drugs. She’s the only one of the three co-hosts that knows Donald personally. She’s the only one of the four who has been married and widowed. Her husband served in the Iraqi war, but the cause of his death was never made clear to his widow. The two had a son together, which his parents filed custody for due to their disagreement with her drug usage and her promiscuity. Rather than dealing with the judical system, and knowing that she would lose, she willingly gave up full custody of her son, Dylan, to his paternal grandparents, while still providing child support, weekly visits and is constant part in his life. Other than the radio show, Sandra also makes money by selling drugs on campus where she is working on her masters.
5. Xander Mann (age 24) – Xander’s not techically a main character as his POV is never seen, but he is important to the story’s radio show. He’s a regular character that appears throughtout the story line. Little is known about his sexual background, but he has known Donald since they first entered college, though he admits never graduating because school just wasn’t his thing. Instead, Xander focuses on making his music, which Donald frequently plays on the show in order to set the mood.

The Minor Characters (edited as the story progresses):

1. Charis Hartley (age 20) – She is the epitome of sexual innocence and Donald is daring enough to attempt to pursue her. However, she knows of Donald’s habits and refuses to fall victim to them. While probably one of the most important of the minor characters, I don’t think she fits into the main character list.

4. Dylan Foster (age 4) – Sandra’s son.
5. Earl Foster (60) – Dylan’s grandfather/Sandra’s father-in-law

9. Alice Mora (age 21) – Ron’s on and off girlfriend.
